The Malabar R.C. School was built by Canon Maher in the year 1951. The then school, a 5,565 square feet wooden structure was constructed with materials purchased from the de-activated American Base at Wallerfield. Credit must be given to the villagers of Malabar who gave what little help they could with the construction of the old school building.
The official opening took place on Friday 1st June 1951, with the blessings of Cannon Maher, the Manager of the school. Turning of the main keys of the door of the school was performed by Mr. Albert Aleong who was the Mayor of Arima at the time.
Eventually, the wooden building which as termite ridden was demolished and replaced by the current concrete structure in 1973.
The school was originally dedicated to our Lady of Mt. Carmel and the uniform was brown. It is unclear as to when the uniform was changed to the current royal blue.
The school continues to invest in moulding and producing citizens not only in academics but sports and culture.
